Online Poker Room Suit Coming

In 2008 Connie Gowan filed a suit against Titlware that was dismissed in 2010. This year the decision was overturned and now the poker pros suit against Tiltware is back on. Tiltware owns online poker room Full Tilt Poker, and Gowan was an official pro for them starting in 2004. She was offered 1% of the company in return, and when they tried to pay her $250k she refused, saying that it was not the right amount. They let her go and she filed suit. Now, amid all their problems with the US Government, the online poker room will have to deal with this lawsuit.

 

New Online Poker Bill Suggested in USA

In the US the state of online poker is currently in limbo, and one lawmaker would like to see that change. The poker law suggested by Joe Barton, R-Texas, would clarify the legality of online poker play. Barton took action to put together this online poker bill by poker players who followed him on Facebook, and made their opinions on the current state of online poker very clear.

US Senator Speeds Up Online Poker Legalization in California

In order to speed up the federal regulations in terms of legalizing US online poker, California lawmaker Lou Correa, an Orange County Democrat provided the Senate Bill 40 to the California Senate Committee on Government Organization. Correa said, “We have an opportunity to generate 1,300 new California jobs and $1.4 billion.”

The bill was introduced by Correa on December 6th 2010 and since then the bill has gone through three modifications including the last one which took place last week. The recent presentation was an attempt to get a strong support for online poker legalization in California. Talk

US Online Poker To Become Legal This Week?

The online poker industry in the US has taken a beating after the shutdown of three of the biggest US poker sites, Full Tilt Poker, Poker Stars and Absolute Poker in the market. Ever since the incident took place, 95 percent of the US market share in terms of poker seems to have vanished and along with that an equivalent of $200 million was swept away in marketing and promotional activities.

Many poker fan bases and online forums pertaining to the active poker players have been fighting for the legalization of online poker in the United States of America.
