William Hill Extends Ralph Toppings Contract
Ralph Topping, who has been with William Hill for over 40 years, will remain with the group at least until the end of 2013, it was announced this week.
Topping’s salary and remuneration package will be improved significantly, including the awarding of over 550,000 William Hill shares, subject to employment retention.
“We have made exceptional progress in the transformation of William Hill during the last three years,” said Topping.
“There are significant further opportunities ahead of us and I am pleased to have been asked by the Board to continue leading the business at this crucial time in William Hill’s growth and development.”
Phil Ivey Refuses To Play in WSOP 2011
Phil Ivey, one the most reputed online poker professionals and winner of WSOP main events has decided not to participate in this year’s World Series of Poker. Ivey is doing this in protest against the US online poker site Full Tilt Poker, which has not yet paid out all its players after the Black Friday incident.

FBI Closes Down Doyles Room, True Poker And 8 US Poker Sites
Ever since Black Friday on the 15th of April 2011, when the US DoJ shut down PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker and Absolute Poker, US poker players have been waiting for another such fatal turn of events for other US poker sites. And, this is exactly what happened on the 24th of May 2011.
This time the FBI got 10 sites closed, including Doyles Room and True Poker. The list including eight other poker sites has been released by the DoJ stating which sites were indicted.
