Casino fans in Canada could be tempted to head to New York City next time they venture south of the border following the opening of a new venue in Queens.The newly opened racino at the Aqueduct Racetrack has welcomed a host of gaming fans through its doors since opening at the weekend, the New York Daily News reported.Figures show that in its first three days of operation, more than 65,000 gaming fans tried their luck at the new establishment in the boroughs South Ozone Park.Michael Speller, president of Resorts World New York, told the news provider: “We were truly humbled by the astounding welcome we received on opening weekend – this reception exceeded everyones expectations.”The figures are especially high, given that horse racing, which the area is well-known for, does not return to the venue until later this week.Aqueduct Racetrack and other similar gambling establishments are expected to boost New Yorks credentials as a gambling hub over the coming months.
